The Poker Sports League (PSL) in India is launching its anticipated fifth season with Pocket52 as the title sponsor. PSL’s CEO, Pranav Bagai, expressed excitement about this collaboration, highlighting their shared vision of promoting poker responsibly.
The league’s distinctive team-based format is designed to provide equal opportunities for both professionals and amateurs to excel in the game. This season, themed ‘Astronomy’ and promoted with #IntoThePokerSpace, will feature a mix of physical and virtual gameplay, culminating in both live and online finals.
Pocket52’s Director, Nitesh Salvi, emphasized their commitment to enhancing player experiences through innovative features on their revamped app and their support for responsible gaming practices. The previous season saw Kolkata Kings emerge victorious, earning ₹72 lakhs, while the runner-up, Deccan Aces, secured ₹48 lakhs. The tournament hosted 36 qualifying players, 12 professionals, 6 women, and 6 substitute slots. Bagai concluded by welcoming everyone to experience the world of poker sports, seeing it as a stepping stone for enthusiasts to interact with pro-players and elevate their game.
